Welcome to my website. I am the Member of Parliament for Orpington, which I have represented since 1992.

I was a Minister of Health in the last Conservative Government and before that a Minister in the Cabinet Office.

From 1997 - 2004 I was Chairman of the House of Commons Environmental Audit Select Committee. I am now a member of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee.
